After being heavily revised, and growing roughly 50 pages longer, the book was republished under the title Treason (1988), also but only by St. It was originally published by St Martin's Press and Dell Publishing Co. "A Planet Called Treason (1979) is a science fiction novel by American writer Orson Scott Card about a radical regenerative named Lanik who is banished from his kingdom and travels to different regions of the planet, discovering the powers of the people living there. The dust jacket has rubbing, edge wear and nicking to the spine ends and corners, along with one semi-closed tear to the bottom front panel. The book has slight bumping to the top and bottom spine ends. The book and its contents are in clean, bright condition. ![]() ![]() As Card himself has acknowledged, A Planet Called Treason is amateurish. I have not read the revised version, simply titled TREASON, but it is supposed to be a complete overhaul with 10 new material. Cover Art This book is in Very Good+ condition and has a Very Good- dust jacket. It faded out of print, then Card made some major revisions/rewrites and republished it in 1988 under a different title. Illustrated by Paul Stimson (illustrator). ![]()

![]() ![]() For all that I found Brittain’s voice compelling, I don’t recall ever finding her funny, and in fact the extent to which she takes herself seriously is probably the least attractive thing about her books–though I also, perhaps paradoxically, respect her intellectual seriousness very much. One factor, I think, is that in the early parts, Graves has quite a wry and engaging sense of humor. ![]() I’ve been trying to figure out just what makes it sound so different from Testament of Youth. So far, Goodbye to All That definitely is a very different book, as much because of Graves’s different tone and personality as because of the difference in their experiences. ![]() My interest in reading it was sparked by Testament of Youth: Brittain points to Graves’s book both as an inspiration for her own memoir of the war and as a kind of counter-example to it, as she wanted her book to tell a very different story about the war, the one she thought was (to some extent inevitably) overshadowed by battlefield accounts. I’m about half way through Robert Graves’s autobiography Goodbye to All That. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Young Hoosier Book Award Middle Grade 1987-1987īack to Top Reading Measurement Programs: William Allen White Children's Book Award None 1987-1988 Maud Hart Lovelace Book Award None 1987-1988 Indian Paintbrush Book Award None 1987-1987 YALSA Popular Paperbacks for Young Adults, 2004, On That Note: Music and Musiciansīack to Top State & Provincial Reading List :īeehive Book Award Children's Fiction 1987-1987Ĭalifornia Young Reader Medal Middle School/Junior High 1988-1988Ĭolorado Blue Spruce Young Adult Book Award None 1987-1987ĭorothy Canfield Fisher Children's Book Award None 1986-1987 Subjects Best Books State and Provincial Reading List Reading Measurement Programs Reviews Series Publication Details Subjects :Ĭhildren's Catalog, Eighteenth Edition, 2001, NoneĬhildren's Catalog, Nineteenth Edition, 2006, None ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Can Jamie pass up the big competition for the sake of his friends and family?.
